Qirath Section

The profound art and science of the Seven Recitals.

What is Qirath?

The recital (Qirat) means the learning system of reading the Quranic verses. A number of the Companions learned Qirat directly from the Prophet (sal), and among the major narrators were Uthman, Ali, Ubaib ibn Kaab, Abu Ddhardha, Ibn Masuood, Zaid bin Thabith, and Aboo Moosa al Ashari.

Historical Preservation

During Caliph Usman (rali)'s rule, strict standards were set to preserve the purity of Qirat. He sent official copies of the Quran to seven major regions along with expert Qarees. To be an accepted Qirat, it must perfectly match the Arabic language, match Usman's (rali) copies, and be narrated by at least ten narrators at every stage.
